2009 Men's Invitational
April 16th-18th, 2009
Plantation Golf Members,
It is our pleasure to announce that the twelfth annual Plantation Men's Invitational Golf Tournament will be held on April 16-18, 2009. This exciting, fun-filled tournament will again allow you to renew old friendships and make some new acquaintances. We will continue our popular match play format of past years and we plan to make the 2009 Invitational one of the highlights of the year. The key events are briefly described below:
THURSDAY, APRIL 16: ďOptionalĒ Practice Round
For the Practice round, the golf and cart fees are not included in the entry fee. Please complete a tee time request card in the normal manner but also print ďThe InvitationalĒ on the card. The practice round will be followed by a team gathering starting at 5:30 p.m. in the Clubhouse for registration, team photos and orientation. Food and a cash bar will be available for all players while you and your guest select from an array of wonderful gifts. If necessary, late registration will be at 7:15 a.m. Friday morning.
FRIDAY, APRIL 17: Twenty-Seven Holes - Match Play
On Friday at 8:00 A.M. we start our three nine-hole matches with a break for lunch between the second and third match. After we play the third match, we will gather at the Bobcat practice putting green area for the closest to the pin contest. Qualifying players will compete across the lake, approximately 100 yards, to the target on the practice putting area. The three best shots will receive a cash prize.
Members and their guests, including their spouses and families, are invited to witness and cheer for their favorite participants. Cocktails (cash bar) will be available for those watching and participating in this event. There are no other organized events planned for this evening, however the Plantation has scheduled their fabulous Seafood Buffet for this evening in our beautiful Clubhouse. Please make your own reservations directly with the Club if you plan to dine there. Casual dress is suggested.
SATURDAY, APRIL 18: Eighteen Holes - Match Play
Saturday completes our competition with the final two, nine-hole matches. The winners from each of the 10 flights then participate in our exciting SHOOTOUT to determine the overall Invitational winners. The SHOOTOUT will begin immediately after all matches have been completed.
Later that evening, join us for our dinner dance and award ceremony in our beautiful clubhouse. Players are expected to wear jackets as they accompany their dancing partners for the evening.
This yearís fee will be $550 per team. In addition, please bring cash of $150 per team to the team gathering on Thursday evening. The $150 will be collected at the door to cover the entire purse for this event.
Please remember that:
- The event is open to all Plantation G&CC Golf Equity Members
- Guests cannot be Members of the Plantation G&CC
- Both members and guests will use 90% of their handicaps for this tournament.
- Guests must have a Certifiable Handicap
- Upon registration your account will be charged $200 which will be non refundable as of March 1, 2009.
This year we are planning on having 10 flights, 60 teams, or 120 players. Beyond that we cannot guarantee a playing spot so please try to get your registration completed in a timely manner. Therefore, click below to enter the Invitationalís section of Plantationís website to complete your registration. Initially you need only to fill in your name and member number and then submit to guarantee yourself a playerís spot. Later when you have all the information you may finalize your guestís information and resubmit. If, however, you know your guestís information by all means provide it.
